Residential area PIERREPONT France

Programme: Construction of a district including : -261 apartments (T2, T3 and T4) in different sets. -A rest home of 150 beds. -A serviced residence of 80 apartments. -8 shops, of ± 1.600 m², and a medical home. -Parking spaces, surrounding areas and a public esplanade.

About: The site is located at the heart of Pierrepont, a small village in the North of France. It is a former industrial site that spreads on both sides of the river « La Crusnes ». The place, very bucolic and nature by the water is right next to the centre of the village and the main road connecting it to the neighbouring towns and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. We studied the creation of a programme rich in housings of all types but also the creation of a rest home and serviced residence and shops allowing the creation of local employment. The buildings’ architecture was directly inspired by the characteristics of the local architecture, made of gable roofing among other things. Many public areas have been invented, from the public commercial esplanade near the Place de la Victoire to the parks along the river. The « village » spirit has been put forward, as well as a HQE approach.
