About: In this industrial city of Charleroi, the Medical Center "Les Genets" emerges as a symbol of regeneration and hope. Once a school devastated by fire, it has now been transformed into a haven of well-being and community support. Inspired by the lightness of dragonfly wings, we designed a welcoming extension, inviting residents to step through the door, seamlessly integrating new healthcare functions into the existing structure. The wooden framework of the extension reflects the medical center's ecological commitment, offering a natural and warm environment conducive to healing. The interior layout is designed to maximize efficiency and promote an atmosphere of calm and serenity. A future Community Health Cell will further reinforce Les Genets' commitment to the health and well-being of the community. Beyond its role as a healthcare provider, the Medical Center "Les Genets" becomes a symbol of resilience and humanity. With its inspiring architecture and ecological approach, it provides a refuge and a place of hope for a community often overlooked, shining as a beacon of compassion and welcoming embrace in a often tumultuous world.
