The purpose of the competition is to increase the density of Mikkeli’s city structure by designing a new model area for ecological construction, extending the city centre to the Lake Saimaa shoreline.

In the competition the City of Mikkeli is seeking a feasible, functional, innovative and high-quality solution for an area extending the city centre. The City will negotiate with the winner/winners on further work.
