Concéntrico 08, International Festival of Architecture and Design of Logroño, proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city through architecture and design proposals in different formats. The new edition will be held from 1 to 6 September 2022.
The festival is calling three competitions for participation in its eighth edition. The deadline for submissions is 11 March 2022 at 14:00 (GMT+1).
The competitions, which have a digital delivery format and €7,500 in prizes, are open to international participation and are aimed at the creation of several of the festival’s proposals:
Pavilion in the Plaza de Escuelas Trevijano, starting point for the routes and activities. A meeting space that shows in an innovative way how urban spaces have become a fundamental reference for coexistence during the current pandemic.
Installations in Viña Lanciano + Quinda do Seixo, for the first time Concéntrico with Bodegas LAN, Sandeman and Sogrape, we propose a competition with a double location that makes visible a similar reality in neighbouring countries, Spain and Portugal: the respect for the landscape, biodiversity and wine culture that occur in Viña Lanciano next to the river Ebro in La Rioja and in Quinta do Seixo next to the river Duero (Douro) in the North of Portugal.
Installation in Calle Obispo Bustamante, an area where housing, institutional, administrative and educational buildings converge. This relationship between uses and flows makes the environment a space of opportunity to rethink the street as a central element of community life in cities.
Concéntrico will be responsible for the production and construction of the winning proposals in coordination with the selected teams, and they will form part of the set of installations that will be carried out in different locations in the city. Submit here
