Le Manège is one these original and unconventional projects that every architect is wishing for. This huge complex full of history was designed in 1881, covering 2.400m², whose structures have been occupied successively by the Company “des petites Voitures”, then by the Brussels tramway company that used them as a horse mill and finally from 1924 to 1935, by the first Citroën dealer in Belgium, has been completely renovated after 30 years of rest. FCM Architects has renovated the site into housing and offices, while keeping the soul and the heart of this old lady, respected by the Brussels’ architectural community. Contemporary elements have been integrated to the existing structure, allowing the creation of a swimming pool, a fitness room, a garden bordered by mature trees, a living space able to welcome numerous guests… Last but not least… the renowned interior designer Andrée Putman has signed this prestigious work. In short, this is the transformation of an emblematic building in an exceptional residential place.
