Purpose of design international competition for constructionTo lead cultural development in South Jeolla Province a time-honored artistic hometown, expand an opportunity for residents to appreciate culture inrelatively deteriorated eastern areas, and construct a creative, symbolic and artistic provincial museum of art.Target and scope of projectLocation: Lot 9, situated at #227, Indong-ri, Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang-si, South Jeolla Province
Area: 17,465㎡
Use district: Type 2 residential area (2,232㎡), natural green or greenbelt (13,002㎡)
and general commercial area(2,231㎡)
Total ground area: 12,000㎡ (±5%)
Usage: Facilities for culture and assembly (Art museum)
- Exhibition space: Permanent Exhibit Hall, Planning Exhibit Hall, and Special Exhibit Hall, etc.
- Storage space: Storage, Preparation Room, Reference Room, and Management Warehouse, etc.
- Education space: AV Room, Seminar Room, and Education & Experience Room
- Management space: Office, Docent Room, Director's Office, Meeting Room, Machinery/Electrical Room, etc.
- Amenities: Cafeteria, Lounge, Locker Room, Nursery Room, Kids' Cafe etc.
- Other facilities: Writers' Residence, Event Space, etc.
- Subsidiary facilities: Parking Lot, Outdoor Sculpture Park, Small Outdoor Performance Stage, etc.
Construction cost: 35,937 million won (including VAT)
Service cost: 1,557 million won (including VAT).Period of design : 9 months from the date of set-up of construction
Period of construction : 24 months from the date of commencement of construction
