Modest workers' lodging of 3.30m wide on the ground floor, the transformation consists of fitting out a single-family accommodation with two bedrooms in this very small volume. Two principles guide the project: - Alternating half-levels makes the volume as profitable as possible. On the street side, the ground floor hosts the kitchen and on the first floor a bedroom. The garden level receives the living room in connection with the garden. Above there are the bathroom and the second bedroom. - the central staircase perpendicular to the party wall divides and distributes all the spaces. Open at the top, it lights up the whole house. By these simple principles all spaces are interconnected, open and bright. To arrive at this simplicity, it was necessary to make technical inventiveness to hide the ventilation, to suspend the bathroom and the bathtub, to get the requested surfaces ...
