    Catalogue

Initiated in 2010, the collection Architectures Wallonie-Bruxelles Inventaires # Inventories aims to draw a portrait of recent architecture in Wallonia and Brussels every three years and to illustrate the commitment of the public authorities and private building owners in the search for architecture that is in tune with the times and contributes to improving the living environment.

Inventories#3 - the fourth volume of the collection

Selected for the first time by public choice, 45 examples of architectural projects are examined here, covering individual and group-housing, workspaces, collective facilities and public spaces. Also discussed are 45 initiatives aimed at improving life in urban and rural landscapes. This is set in the context of contemporary issues and illustrates the work being done by those with concern for the environment, including waste reduction and social housing and recognises the importance of involving both experts and those affected by these processes.

Also described is a project in Wallonia devised by curators Gilles Debrun & Pauline de La Boulaye, working with the artistic collective Habitant.e.s des images. This included three separate stopovers with caravans involving discussions with residents and activists, meetings with architects and site visits, and extensive public debates with those concerned.

This book with its many discussion-points and visuals makes solid proposals for those involved in public and private works as well as everybody else who has concerns for the environment.
