Rotor: Conference in Lille

Image

Deconstructing architecture? - Cross discussion between the Rotor collective and the Microtopies festival, on 17 April 2024 at 6.30pm at the Bazaar ST-So in Lille.

As part of the New European Bauhaus Festival (NEB), which will take place in Brussels from 9 to 13 April and throughout the European Union from 14 to 21 April 2024, the Conseil national de l'Ordre des architectes français and the Réseau des maisons de l'architecture de France have joined forces to offer satellite events to this major European festival.

The construction and public works sector is the biggest generator of waste, and it is becoming essential for us to move towards circular urban planning. Numerous initiatives - on both a micro and macro scale - are flourishing to experiment with re-use solutions in architecture, despite the various obstacles and problems frequently encountered. This is the case of the Belgian collective Rotor, pioneer, activist and benchmark in the field of re-use in the building and public works sector, as well as the experiments carried out each year by the participants in Microtopies - Parcours de Cabanes in the Hauts-de-France region.

This cross-disciplinary discussion between various European professionals involved in these subjects - architects, companies, builders and designers - will provide an opportunity to understand, analyse and build bridges between initiatives that are seeking to experiment collectively with solutions for dealing with what is already there.
